Groups that advocate for immigrants' right have been advising undocumented individuals and their families on how to handle President-elect Donald Trump's administration, as he has promised mass deportations.
Trump is planning to roll back rules that don't allow immigration enforcement in areas like schools and churches, according to a report from NBC News.
"There’s no way they can deport millions of people if they don’t go for the low-hanging fruit, and this is it,” leader of Hope Community Center, an immigrants' rights group, Felipe Sousa-Lazaballet, told the outlet.
Many groups that advocate for immigrants' and their rights told NBC News that they have gotten multiple calls about their rights and what to do if they encounter Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
