Colorado Democratic Gov. Polis praises selection of RFK Jr. to lead Health and Human Services

Colorado Democratic Gov. Jared Polis on Thursday praised the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

"I’m excited by the news that the President-Elect will appoint @RobertKennedyJr to @HHSGov," Polis wrote on the social media platform, X. "He helped us defeat vaccine mandates in Colorado in 2019 and will help make America healthy again by shaking up HHS and FDA."

Polis said that he is optimistic about Kennedy Jr. taking on Big Pharma and corporate agriculture. 

"He will face strong special interest opposition on these, but I look forward to partnering with him to truly make America healthy again and I hope that we can finally make progress on these important issues," he said. 

President-elect Donald Trump tapped Kennedy Jr. Thursday to be the Secretary of the HHS. 

He will have the be confirmed by the GOP-controlled Senate to get the post. 

Kennedy Jr. endorsed Trump after he suspended his campaign earlier this year. He had a slogan of "Make America Healthy Again" and stumped for Trump, talking about the importance of toxins getting out of American food, as well as raising concerns about vaccines.
