Argentina's Christina Fernandez de Kirchner survives assassination attempt

Argentine Vice President Christina Fernandez de Kirchner survived an assassination attempt on Thursday, multiple outlets have reported.

Video footage shows a lone gunman point a pistol at Fernandez's head but the weapon does not fire and she emerges unscathed.

The would be assassin's motives remain unknown as of press time.

Fernandez de Kirchner previously served as the country's president from 2007-2015.
