White House: Secret Service is investigating how cocaine turned up in the West Wing

During a White House press briefing Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the cocaine discovered over the weekend in the West Wing was found in a “heavily traveled area” frequented by visitors taking public tours. Jean-Pierre offered no additional details but noted that the White House was confident the Secret Service would “get to the bottom of this.” A dime-sized bag of cocaine was found on the ground floor of the West Wing Sunday night, prompting a brief evacuation of the White House.
