VP Harris commends alliance with ‘Republic of North Korea’ during DMZ visit
During what seemed to be a "Freudian slip," Vice President Kamala Harris accidentally commended the country’s strong alliance with the “Republic of North Korea” during a speech at the Demilitarized Zone located on the Korean Peninsula. The slip-up came during the vice president’s first visit to the DMZ on Thursday, where Harris vowed U.S. support for South Korea against the North Korean government. The DMZ acts as a buffer zone between the two countries. Harris's visit came just one day after North Korea fired a third ballistic missile into the sea, following two other missile firings that occurred while she was visiting Japan. Harris’s stop at the DMZ was the final stop of her diplomatic trip to Asia.
