Speaker McCarthy, Rep. Jordan consider need for Special Counsel in Hunter Biden probe
Speaking to CNN Friday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) weighed in on whether a Special Counsel should be appointed to Delaware attorney David Weiss’ criminal investigation into presidential son Hunter Biden. Speaker McCarthy said the IRS whistleblower’s allegation of interference from the Justice Department raised the issue on whether one was needed. Rep. Jordan questioned where a Special Counsel appointment was warranted if the Justice Department denied one in the Hunter Biden probe. “…if the special counsel is not warranted here, when is it?” Jordan stated.
