NYC Mayor Adams announces ‘Get Sheds Down’ plan to remove sidewalk scaffolding

New York City Mayor Eric Adams held a press conference from his office Monday to announce his latest initiative to remove sheds and scaffoldings from city sidewalks. Adams’ “Get Sheds Down” plan will impose stricter regulations and shorter permits to limit property owners use of scaffolding for building repairs. His plan also limits the use of scaffolding to 90 days and fines property owners up to $6,000 for every month they are out of compliance.
