Mortgage rates rise again after Fed comments

Freddie Mac reports 30-year fixed mortgage rates rising again pointing to recent comments from the Federal Reserve chair. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell made comments last Friday that the Fed plans to use "forceful and rapid" steps to fight monetary inflation. Mortgage rates rose by 3% since this time last year, a significant bump.
