Miami Beach, FL mayor issues state of emergency: “We don’t want Spring Break”

Miami Beach, Florida has imposed midnight curfews and 14-hour police shifts during this year’s violent spring break season. The Miami Beach Police have reported 2 fatal shootings, at least 322 arrests, and more than 70 confiscated firearms since February 27. “It's a question of young people acting out and a question of guns all mixed together to make an entirely ungovernable situation, which we don't want any part of,” says Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber.
