Florida police officer 'relieved of duty' after dispute with deputy over speeding
A Florida police officer was relieved of duty pending investigations after failing to stop and then refusing to cooperate with a sheriff’s deputy who was pulling him over for speeding in Seminole County on June 6th. According to a June 9 arrest report from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), Officer Alexander Shaouni of the Orlando Police Department (OPD) was spotted going 80 mph in a 45 mph zone while driving an OPD vehicle, prompting an SCSO deputy to pursue him with their lights and siren activated. The deputy had to drive at over 90 mph to catch Shaouni because he did not immediately pull over, the report said. Footage released by SCSO shows some of the pursuit and a heated exchange between Shaouni and the deputy that followed. Credit: Seminole County Sheriff via Storyful
