E. Jean Carroll sues former President Donald Trump for battery and defamation

E. Jean Carroll, an ex-magazine columnist, filed a lawsuit against former President Trump on Thursday, the first day that civil suits can be brought under New York's Adult Survivors Act. The suit alleges that Trump raped Carroll in a New York department store in the 1990s.
