Despite the Trump administration's insistence that it has no ability to return an illegal alien and alleged MS-13 gang member whom it mistakenly deported to El Salvador, the voters want Washington to pressure that country to return him anyway.

Kilmar Abrego Garica was deported erroneously with MS-13 gang members despite being subject to a protective order preventing his removal from the U.S. He denies membership in the gang, though the Trump administration insists he is part of MS-13.

Fifty-six percent of registered voters supported requiring the Trump administration to bring him back while just 32% opposed such a move and 12% were unsure in the latest Napolitan News Survey.

Forty-nine percent supported pressuring the government of El Salvador to return Abrego Garcia, while 37% were opposed.

It was bad news for Democrats, too, however, as a plurality of respondents (42%) said it was inappropriate for a senator to treat Abrego Garcia as a constituent. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., personally travelled to El Salvador to secure his release and gained a meeting with Abrego Garcia, though he is still in the custody of his home country.

Conducted April 21-22, the survey questioned 1,000 registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.
