Vance quips Harris may attend rally dressed as Trump to stay competitive
Vance made the quip in the context of Harris adopting Trump's no tax on tips policy.
Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance on Wednesday quipped that Vice President Kamala Harris might appear at one of the campaign's rallies dressed as former President Donald Trump in order to remain competitive in the election.
"You know, I was talking to the president recently," Vance said at a campaign event in Reno, Nevada. "I said, 'Sir, she's going to show up to one of those rallies. She's going to have a long red tie and a red MAGA hat, because this is the only way that she's going to be able to have a chance in this election, is just to copy you and every single thing that you're doing.'"
Trump is known for often wearing a long red tie in addition to his trademark campaign hat. Vance made the quip in the context of Harris adopting Trump's no tax on tips policy.
"Kamala Harris, despite being in office, every time we come up with a really good idea, about three days later, Kamala Harris says, 'I want to do that too,'" he said. "And now that I think her campaign is floundering a little bit."
