Marjorie Taylor Greene warns of MAGA 'revolt' should Trump tap Haley to serve in next admin
Trump, for his part, has been critical of Haley amid her candidacy, even bestowing upon her a trademark nickname: "birdbrain."
Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday warned that members of the MAGA movement would not tolerate former President Donald Trump's naming former U.N. Ambassador and Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley to any post in a prospective administration.
"MAGA would revolt if Nikki Haley were to even be given an internship in Trump’s next administration," Greene said. "She represents the neocon establishment America last wing of the Republican Party that we are absolutely done with. Also, she lied and said she would not run against Trump."
Haley has largely staked her campaign on a message of vigorous American interventionism abroad, a position that detractors often refer to pejoratively as "neoconservative" or "neocon."
Though she previously served in Trump's first administration as ambassador to the United Nations, she is nonetheless challenging Trump for the Republican nomination, though she currently stands in third place, behind both Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
