Kim Klacik files to run for Congress in Maryland
The district includes Westminster and stretches from the northern portions of Baltimore to the Pennsylvania border.
Conservative activist and former Maryland GOP House candidate Kim Klacik on Thursday announced that she would make another bid for Congress in 2024.
"Excited to announce I have filed to run in Maryland’s 2nd Congressional District. It’s currently an open seat & redistricted, making it competitive for a republican to flip," she announced on X. "Thank you, Delegate Chisholm, Chairwoman Kit Hart, Delegate Szeliga, Delegate Nawrocki & Delegate Morgan for taking time to run over to support my bid."
The district includes the city of Westminster and stretches from the northern portions of Baltimore to the Pennsylvania border. The Cook Political Report rates the district as D+7.
In 2020, Klacik was defeated in her bid to represent the state's 7th Congressional District, which includes most of downtown Baltimore. She rose to prominence that year through a viral video walking through the city streets in which she condemned Democrats for their management the city.
