Kari Lake predicts GOP border deal will be 'dead on arrival'

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake predicts that the GOP border deal will be dead on arrival, adding that no money should go to Ukraine unless the southern border is secure. 

"The deal they're working on now from what I'm hearing is, I think is dead on arrival," Lake said on the Tuesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "If they're going to even tie one penny to going to Ukraine in order to get border security, that's outrageous."

Last month, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said that any aid given to Kyiv must be packaged with security for the U.S. southern border.

"Not one penny should go to Ukraine until we have a secure border," Lake said. 

She added that she didn't have a lot of faith in the border deal because Sen. Kyrsten Sinema – her one of likely Senate opponents – supports the Ukraine-border deal. 

"I don't have a lot of faith right now," she said. "Kyrsten Sinema is one of the people working on it. She wants to tie Ukraine funding to getting border security. That's reprehensible."

Lake also criticized Democrat Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs for her lack of action regarding the border crisis with thousands of migrants coming across illegally. 

"This is somebody who doesn't want the wall," she said. "This is somebody who the minute she got into office pulled down the barrier that we did have."
