Garland confirms special counsel Hur has completed Biden classified docs probe
Hur is not expected to bring charges over the matter.
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Wednesday confirmed to lawmakers that special counsel Robert Hur had completed his investigation into President Joe Biden's handling of classified materials.
In a letter to lawmakers, Garland insisted he would release as much of the final report as possible after the White House reviewed it to address concerns of executive privilege, the Associated Press reported.
Garland's confirmation came one day after reports emerged that the DOJ would soon release Hur's findings. He appointed Hur as special counsel in January 2023 amid revelations that Biden had stored classified materials at his former D.C. office and private Delaware home.
Hur is not expected to bring charges over the matter.
In contrast to special counsel Jack Smith's probe of former President Donald Trump's handling of classified materials, Hur's probe attracted little media attention and there were few headlines throughout the investigation other than revelations that he had interviewed Biden.
