President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday took a swipe at President Joe Biden for imposing an offshore drilling ban during the transition period.

"So that's what we're up against. So they say we're going to have a smooth transition. All they do is talk. It's all talk," he said at a press conference in Palm Beach, Fla. "Everything they do is talk. We're going to have a smooth transition. And then they take 625 million acres, and they essentially landmark it, so you can't have a drill there again. Well, we're going to be drilling soon."

Biden imposed a ban on new offshore drilling leases this week, saying "as the climate crisis continues to threaten communities across the country and we are transitioning to a clean energy economy, now is the time to protect these coasts for our children and grandchildren."

Trump is likely to attempt to rescind that ban and has touted energy production as a means of lowering every day costs and combating inflation.
