Trump says Dan Kelly lost Wisconsin Supreme Court race because he didn't seek endorsement
Trump stated on TRUTH Social that Kelly's not seeking his endorsement caused him to lose the election
Former President Donald Trump blames the Wisconsin Supreme Court majority going to Democrats for the first time in years on conservative candidate Dan Kelly's decision not to seek a Trump endorsement.
"Daniel Kelly of Wisconsin just lost his Supreme Court Election," Trump wrote on TRUTH Social. "He bragged that he won’t seek Trump’s Endorsement, so I didn’t give it—which guaranteed his loss. How foolish is a man that doesn’t seek an Endorsement that would have won him the Election?"
Liberal Judge Janet Protasiewicz won her bid for a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, a victory that flipped the bench's majority from conservative to liberal.
Wisconsin voters were tasked with selecting a replacement for retiring Supreme Court Justice Patience Roggensack.
Before the election, conservative judge Dan Kelly made it clear he did not want the 45th president's endorsement.
“We’re not looking for one,” Kelly said in an interview with NBC News when asked if he was looking for a Trump endorsement. “I’m not really looking for endorsements from political actors.”
