Pundits and politicians took to social media after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection.

Biden made the announcement Sunday where he said his main focus is "to focus solely on fulfilling [his] duties as President for the remainder of [his] term."

He endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic Party's 2024 presidential nominee.

Former President Donald Trump said on Truth Social, "crooked Joe was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve - And never was!"

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wrote on a post on the social media platform, X, that America is in a better place because of Biden's leadership.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Biden a "patriotic American," following his decision.

"With love and gratitude to President Biden for always believing in the promise of America and giving people the opportunity to reach their fulfillment," Pelosi wrote on the social media platform, X. "God blessed America with Joe Biden’s greatness and goodness."

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Tx., blasted the Democrats who pushed Biden out, whom she called "the problem," as she announced her support for Vice President Harris to replace Biden on the ticket.

“Well I hope the geniuses that pushed the most consequential President of our lifetime out, have a plan. WHO in the hell couldn’t sell the MF Accomplishments & win over a 34 time convicted Felon who isn’t even allowed to operate businesses in the state of NY (and therefore should automatically be disallowed from say running the country) & his ENTIRE team IS project 2025?! Joe wasn’t the problem… dems were,” Crockett wrote on X.

“I know one thing, I will only work for @KamalaHarris! If it’s anyone OTHER than her, enjoy campaign season… I hope all of my disenchanted colleagues are able to find some walking shoes and get to work because I WILL NOT!” she continued.

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., called for Biden to resign as president.

"And if Joe Biden cannot run for re-election because he is mentally unfit (you know, the reason the Democrats and their billionaires oligarchs pressured him to drop out) then he must IMMEDIATELY resign," Greene wrote on social media.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., shared the sentiment and posted, "If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough."

Rep. Tim Burchett offered his comments, saying "Biden can’t run a campaign but he can run our Country?"

Conservative commentators also commented on Biden not continuing his re-election campaign.
