House passes sweeping election reform bill, opposed by Republicans

Rep. Matt Gaetz tweeted that his Democratic colleagues "have jeopardized the legitimacy of every future U.S. election" through the legislation's passage.

The House of Representatives passed a sweeping election reform bill on Wednesday night, in a 220-210 vote, with no Republicans voting for it. It's called the For the People Act, also known as H.R. 1.  

Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Florida Republican, blasted the bill on Twitter, saying that his Democratic colleagues "have jeopardized the legitimacy of every future U.S. election" through its passage.
