A Democrat congressman told reporters on Tuesday the House Democratic Caucus is not on the same page about President Biden remaining the Democratic nominee for president.

"We're not even in the same book," said Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., on his way out of the meeting held at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., said Biden is the best candidate the Democrats have right now.

"At this point he is the best candidate. He is the only candidate," he said after the meeting.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, was the first elected Democrat to call on Biden to exit the race. He told reporters on Tuesday that he made his "case for Biden and for a replacement" in the caucus meeting.
