Sen. Ron Johnson says Columbia protests show how far radical leftism on campuses has gone
Johnson explained that leftists have always had a plan to spread marxism through the universities and it is working.
Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said Tuesday that the anti-Israel protests at Columbia University show how far leftism has infiltrated college campuses.
"I agree with your previous guest that you stop funding these universities," Johnson said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "But let's face it: this is really revealing the radical rot in our universities."
The protests on the Manhattan campus have stretched on since last Wednesday, and resulted in more than 100 protesters being arrested on Thursday.
Despite the arrests, protests resumed and the university’s president decided to move classes online on Monday to protect Jewish students.
Johnson explained that leftists have always had a plan to spread radical positions through the universities and it is working.
"Because they control the media, because they control academia and because they control universities, it was kept under the radar," he said. "But now it's bubbling to the surface in this grotesque display of support for the brutal murders of Hamas."
