CDC pushes school officials to embrace LGBT curriculum

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is pushing for school administrators, nurses, and teachers to embrace the LGBT movement and embrace related curricula in educating students.

The federal agency has posted a document to its youth website, entitled "LGBTQ Inclusivity in Schools: A Self-Assessment Tool." The page includes several dropdown menus with resources for "professional development," "tools for supporting LGBT youth," and "health considerations for LGBT youth."

Each includes a list of documents and guidance pertaining to pro-LGBT materials. At the top of the page is a section encouraging the professional development of school officials, stating materials distributed to them should cover "appropriate language" on the "concepts of sexual orientation and gender identity."

It further suggests including information on "health risks" for young LGBT individuals, the school environment's impact on such students, the "unique needs of transgender and gender diverse students," and supportive school policies for them.

Included in some of the other documents were graphics such as the "gender unicorn," which the Daily Signal highlighted. The graphic displayed an image of a purple mythological creature clad in the various symbols of the LGBT iconography that included supplementary explanations of gender identity and physical/emotion attraction.

The federal agency's Division of Adolescent and School Health called attention to its materials in a late December twitter post, saying "[o]ur LGBTQ inclusivity self-assessment tool can help you quickly gauge inclusivity at your school."
