'Comrade Kamala': Trump team hits Harris on 'price fixing' ahead of economic speech
Included in the press release were a string of headlines warning of the adverse consequences of such price hikes when implemented in other nations, including Venezuela.
The Trump campaign on Friday excoriated Vice President Kamala Harris over her reported plans to announce a "government price fixing scheme" during an economic policy speech in Raleigh, N.C.
"Kamala Harris is set to unveil a government price fixing scheme today that's more reminiscent of a third-world regime than the United States. [Venezuelan President] Nicolas Maduro would be proud of Comrade Kamala," the campaign stated.
Included in the press release were a string of headlines warning of the adverse consequences of such price hikes when implemented in other nations, including Venezuela.
Trump previously likened Harris's economic policies to those of Maduro during a press conference Thursday in Bedminster, N.J.
"She's running on the Maduro plan," he said in reference to the reported price fixing. "[L]ike something straight out of Venezuela or the Soviet Union."
Maduro has led Venezuela since 2013, though he has repeatedly extended his time in office through elections that have attracted international condemnation.
