Biden and Harris to begin receiving classified intelligence briefings
A spokesperson says the briefings will begin on Monday.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will begin receiving classified intelligence briefings on Monday, according to a Biden spokesperson.
The formal transition process has been signed off on by the General Services Administration, allowing Biden to move forward even as Trump's legal team disputes election results in several states.
"As you may have also heard, we are working with ODNI and the White House on the President’s Daily Brief,” Jen Psaki, who oversees Biden's nominations team, told reporters during a news conference. “We expect the first briefing to take place on Monday.”
An adviser to Biden has been in contact with the FBI and the Justice Department to work out details on background checks for all of Biden's staff and nominees. The team also expects to be briefed by the Trump administration on the vaccine distribution plan.
