Trump says Kentucky Derby winning horse is 'a junky' following news of failed blood test
"It is our understanding that Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit’s post-race blood sample indicated a violation of the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s equine medication protocols," Churchill Downs said in a statement on Sunday.
Former President Donald Trump on Sunday issued a statement in which he said that the horse who won the Kentucky Derby is "a junky."
"So now even our Kentucky Derby winner, Medina Spirit, is a junky," Trump said in the statement. "This is emblematic of what is happening to our Country. The whole world is laughing at us as we go to hell on our Borders, our fake Presidential Election, and everywhere else!"
Churchill Downs in a statement on Sunday noted: "It is our understanding that Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit’s post-race blood sample indicated a violation of the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s equine medication protocols. The connections of Medina Spirit have the right to request a test of a split sample and we understand they intend to do so. To be clear, if the findings are upheld, Medina Spirit’s results in the Kentucky Derby will be invalidated and Mandaloun will be declared the winner."
