Lil Wayne meets with Trump to discuss president's economic prosperity plan for black Americans

Rapper Lil Wayne met with President Trump on Thursday about his economic prosperity plan for black Americans, becoming the second high-profile black entertainer in recent weeks to offer input about Trump's related Platinum Plan and continuing efforts on criminal justice reform. 

"Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership," the 38-year-old Wayne tweeted along with a picture of himself and Trump. "He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done."

The president's proposed Platinum Plan includes creating 3 million new jobs in the Black community over the next four years, while increasing access to capital by nearly half a trillion dollars. 

Lil Wayne, whose given name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., follower rapper Ice Cube in his support for the plan. Ice Cube over the summer released a "Contract with Black America," which calls for reforms and policy plans that aim to close the opportunity gap in America.

He told Fox News on Sunday that he is "willing to meet with anybody who could bring this to life and make it a reality."

The musician and actor recently tweeted, Facts: I put out the [Contract with Black America],” the rapper tweeted earlier this month. “Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA. They listened, heard what I had to say ... and pumped up their plan and presented it to the people on September, I believe, 24."

Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Ice Cube for three hours to discuss his "Contract with Black America," which proposes banking, police, and prison reform, in addition to the elimination of all Confederate statues and several other significant reforms and policy actions.
