Trump debate guest Bobulinski says he will give evidence about Biden claims to FBI
President Trump and rival Joe Biden will face off for their final presidential debate tonight.
President Trump is planning to bring Tony Bobulinski — a former associate of Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden — to Thursday night's presidential debate, according to reports.
Bobulinski on Thursday evening delivered a statement in Nashville, Tennessee ahead of the presidential debate and said that on Friday he will turn over to the FBI devices that will corroborate his allegations pertaining to Hunter Biden's business dealings.
"I am making this statement to set the record straight about the involvement of the Biden family, Vice President Biden, his brother Jim Biden and his son Hunter Biden in dealings with the Chinese. I've heard Joe Biden say that he's never discussed business with Hunter: That is false," he said during his Thursday statement.
"In late 2015 I was approached by James Gilliar...about joining him in a deal which he said would involve the Chinese state-owned enterprise CEFC China Energy and what he called one of the most prominent families in the United States," Bobulinski said, noting that he eventually assented to the request of Gilliar and Hunter Biden to become CEO of Sinohawk.
"Tomorrow I will be meeting with the Senate committee members concerning this matter," Bobulinski said Thursday to reporters. "And I will be providing the FBI the devices which contain the evidence corroborating what I have said, so I will not be taking any questions at this time," he added.
The Biden campaign on Thursday pushed back against Bobulinski's claims.
"As Chris Wallace said on the air about this very smear, 'Vice President Biden has actually released his tax returns — unlike President Trump — and there is no indication he ever got any money from anybody in these business deals,'" Biden campaign spokesperson Andrew Bates said in a statement put out shortly before Bobulinski's remarks Thursday, according to the Washington Examiner. "Joe Biden has never even considered being involved in business with his family, nor in any overseas business whatsoever."
Bobulinski is a Navy veteran who in an earlier statement had communicated that he is the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings, which he noted "was a partnership between the Chinese operating through CEFC/Chairman Ye and the Biden family."
"I've seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business," Bobulinski noted in that earlier statement. "I've seen firsthand that that's not true, because it wasn't just Hunter's business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line," he noted. "The Biden family aggressively leveraged the Biden family name to make millions of dollars from foreign entities even though some were from communist controlled China," Bobulinski alleged.
