Sheriff says there are no signs of active shooter or victims at Naval Air Station in Pensacola
A spokesperson for the Escambia County Fire Rescue confirmed to CNN that they are responding to the incident.
A sheriff from Escambia County, Florida confirmed Thursday that there were no signs of an active shooter at Naval Air Station Corry Station, in Pensacola, Florida.
Sheriff Chip Simmons says there are also no signs of any injuries, according to a local Fox News station.
Military personnel earlier today responded to a reported active shooter situation at the station.
"Our Security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners," said Capt. Chandra Newman," according to the Naval Air Station X page. "Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families."
A spokesperson for the Escambia County Fire Rescue confirmed to CNN that they are responding to the incident.
The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is based in NAS Pensacola.
According to the Defense Department, there are over 16,000 military and 7,400 civilians on the base.
