White House Correspondents' dinner kicks off at United Talent Agency party
The White House Correspondents’ Association has hosted annual dinners since 1921.
The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner weekend kicked off with an event hosted by the United Talent Agency.
At the UTA’s annual “Celebration of America’s Journalists" Friday evening, second gentleman Doug Emhoff was seen in the crowd.
Attendees of the event included CNN's Jake Tapper, Bill Nye “the Science Guy" and Brendan Hunt, according to The Hill. Also in attendance were Colin Jost, a co-anchor on Saturday Night Live’s (SNL) “Weekend Update,” along with his wife, actress Scarlett Johansson. Jost is the headliner for the Saturday night main event.
President Joe Biden's family members Ashley and Naomi Biden were seen there as well as Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.
The White House Correspondents’ Association has hosted annual dinners since 1921.
Demonstrations are planned to take place at a nearby park Saturday night during the event in which "protesters will criticize Biden for his support for Israel in its war in Gaza and the U.S. news media’s coverage of it," organizers of the event told NBC News.
