Vivek Ramaswamy is leaving President Donald Trump’s incoming Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, and could launch a run for Ohio governor in the coming days.

“Vivek Ramaswamy played a critical role in helping us create DOGE,” Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for DOGE, told the Associated Press.

Elon Musk, Tesla CEO and owner of X, will remain at DOGE.

“He intends to run for elected office soon, which requires him to remain outside of DOGE, based on the structure that we announced today,” the spokesperson said, referencing Ramaswamy's potential run for governor. “We thank him immensely for his contributions over the last two months and expect him to play a vital role in making America great again.”
