President Trump said on Monday night he has signed pardons for about 1,500 individuals he described as Jan. 6th "hostages."

Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio is one of the individuals set to be released from prison after a pardon from Trump, according to a report

Tarrio was not in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021 but was convicted for his role in planning the riot with members of the Proud Boys, according to the Justice Department.

“As soon as I leave, I’m going to the Oval Office and we’ll be signing pardons for a lot of people,” Trump told supporters at the Capital One Arena, according to Forbes.

The president said “they didn’t do stuff wrong.”

“And look what happens in other parts of the country in Portland where they kill people. They destroy the city. Nothing happens to them. In Seattle where they took over a big chunk of the city. Nothing happened. Minneapolis, where they burned down the city,” Trump said.
