Rep. Norman says Biden's answers on Chinese spy balloon & debt don't add up
Norman also said that President Biden is not being honest about the debt situation in the country.
South Carolina GOP Rep. Ralph Norman says that President Joe Biden's response to the Chinese spy balloon and the current debt situation in America are an embarrassment.
Twelve days after the U.S. shot down the Chinese spy balloon, President Biden addressed the American public regarding updates on the situation.
"It's an embarrassment," Norman said on the Thursday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "For him to let China violate our airspace — it raises more questions than it answers."
One of the main critiques of the Biden administration was not downing the balloon sooner after it was seen crossing into U.S. air space.
Norman also said that President Biden is not being honest about the debt situation in the country.
"We're on an unsustainable course," he said. "The runway is getting shorter and shorter. I think it's projected in the next five or six years the interest on the debt will exceed our military budget, which is unacceptable. We got some decisions to make. This country has a spending addiction."
The South Carolina congressman added some suggestions on how to save money.
"What we're going to do is cut things that should have been cut a long time ago, because we simply can't afford it," stated Norman. "The ESG and the woke culture in the military ought to be on the table to look at."
