Biden accidentally says Jimmy Carter asked him to deliver eulogy

President Joe Biden on Monday accidentally told a fundraiser crowd Monday night that former President Jimmy Carter, who is currently under hospice care, asked him to deliver his eulogy.  

"He asked me to do his eulogy – excuse me I shouldn’t say that," Biden at a private Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe, California, according to the Associated Press.

The Carter Center announced last month that the 98-year-old former president would enter hospice care at his home in Georgia after a series of short hospital stays.

"I spent time with Jimmy Carter and it’s finally caught up with him. But they found a way to keep him going for a lot longer than they anticipated because they found a breakthrough," Biden also said, referring to Carter's cancer diagnosis and subsequent recovery in 2015.
