More than 10,000 federal workers have tested positive for coronavirus

More than 10,000 federal workers have tested positive for COVID-19 according a report from Government Executive.
The illness has been contracted by federal employees across multiple agencies, including the Defense Department, the U.S. Postal Service, Veterans Affairs, the State Department and others.
The Defense Department on Tuesday said it had confirmed 1,091 coronavirus cases in civilian workers, according to Government Executive. Also, 4,265 military and 427 contractors have tested positive for the illness the outlet reported.
Several members of Congress have also tested positive during the pandemic.
The number of confirmed cases in the U.S. now exceeds 1 million, while the number globally has surpassed 3 million according to Johns Hopkins University. The number of U.S. deaths surpassed 58,300 on Tuesday, eclipsing the total of Americans who died in the Vietnam war.
