Social Security recipients will receive coronavirus stimulus cash without filing taxes
They will receive the money through direct deposit or physical checks.
Social Security recipients who do not usually file a tax return will not need to file one this year in order to receive their cash payment from the government's recently approved coronavirus stimulus package, the Treasury Department announced Wednesday evening.
“Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return do not to need take an action, and will receive their payment directly to their bank account,” Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin said.
People will either receive the $1,200 Economic Impact Payment via a direct deposit or a physical check, according to the press release.
