Marjorie Taylor Greene suggests defunding salaries of bureaucrats involved in Big Tech censorship

Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says that bureaucrats involved in Big Tech and big government censorship should have their salaries slashed. 

"We know that there was coordination between the DHS, the FBI, the CDC and many different government agencies with these private companies and Big Tech companies," Greene said on the Tuesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "There needs to be accountability and Republicans hold the purse strings."

"What we need to do is we need to cut them out of the budget — the key players that played an important part in this horrific abuse of our rights should be fired," she continued. 

Big Tech platforms such as Twitter have been exposed recently for colluding with government agencies such as the FBI to censor information and monitor "misinformation."

Greene said that the GOP could use methods such as the Holman Rule to hold these bureaucrats accountable. 

"We can do that with the Holman Rule," she said. "What we can do is we can easily take a pencil and cross out their salary. We can cut out their divisions out of their gigantic overinflated agencies and we can really bring accountability by doing it."

The Holman Rule allows the House of Representatives to reduce salaries, fire specific federal employees or cut programs. 

"When we have a Department of Justice that's only serving one political party, and that's the Democrats — the ruling party, then we the Republicans that control the House and the budget need to go ahead and do it," Greene concluded.
