CDC drops five-day isolation for COVID-19
Under the new guidelines, CDC stated that individuals who have contracted COVID-19 should stay home until they don't have a fever without medicine for at least 24 hours.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday officially dropped the five-day isolation guidance for people who have contracted COVID-19.
The agency now says those infected by the virus should stay home until they don't have a fever without medicine for at least 24 hours.
CDC Director Dr. Mandy Cohen said the change in guidelines is the result of much of the U.S. population has immunity.
She also said hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 have been dropping over the years.
