Arizona Democratic Gov. Hobbs says state won't help Trump with 'misguided' mass deportation plan
Hobbs said he state will instead focus on existing partnerships with the federal government to secure the southern U.S. border.
Arizona Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs said Tuesday her state, whose southern border is shared with Mexico, will not help GOP President-elect Donald Trump with his mass deportation plan, calling it "misguided."
Hobbs made the statement to ABC News and also told the news outlet that her state, which voted for Trump on Nov. 5, will be focusing on existing partnerships with the federal government to secure the southern U.S. border.
"I am very hopeful that that partnership can continue, and that the incoming administration will listen to, not only my administration, but the experts here on the ground, the people that are doing the work about what is most needed, and what we can continue to do that will be most helpful in securing our border," she said, according to Fox News.
