'The View' star Sunny Hostin's surgeon husband accused of medical insurance fraud

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Emmanuel "Manny" Hostin and his practice, Hostin Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine were sued for alleged medical insurance fraud, according to a report.

Hostin, the husband of "The View" co-host Sunny Hostin, and his practice are among more than 180 defendants in the RICO case that was filed in New York on Dec. 17.

In the lawsuit, Hostin is accused of "knowingly providing" fraudulent bills to the insurance companies and taking "kickbacks" for performing surgeries, according to The Daily Mail.

Hostin's attorney, Daniel Thwaites, said he "denies each and every" accusation made in the lawsuit.
