Atlanta newspaper subpoenaed in investigation of Trump's post-election moves

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia's biggest daily newspaper, has been issued a subpoena by the grand jury investigating possible criminal activity by former President  Trump and members of his inner circle in the aftermath of the 2020 election. 

The grand jury in Fulton County is hoping to obtain the complete audio recording of a leaked January 11, 2021, conference call that involved then-U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia Bobby Christine, on which the newspaper reported at the time.

The Journal reported that Christine told others on the call that he had dismissed two cases of alleged voter fraud in Georgia due to a lack of evidence.

"In my opinion, there is no there, there," he said.

Earlier this week, the grand jury subpoenaed former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, South Carolina GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham, and attorney John Eastman, who played a role in Trump's post-election ploy to stop the certification of the 2020 Electoral College results.

The grand jury was convened by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Wallis, who is looking into whether Trump and his inner circle and staff attempted to unlawfully influence the results of the election.
