Tenney warns Democrats will try to get Biden reelected through non-citizen voting

New York GOP Rep. Claudia Tenney warned on Monday that the Biden administration will try to keep President Joe Biden in power this November by allowing non-citizens to vote in elections.

The congresswoman said she was worried about non-citizens swaying the election in swing states that former President Donald Trump lost in 2020, and urged Congress to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act because it would require proof of citizenship in the United States in order to vote in federal elections.

The SAVE Act was introduced by Texas Rep. Chip Roy, a Republican, earlier this year, and the Biden administration threatened to veto the bill if passed by both chambers. It is expected to be voted on in the House sometime this week.

"They [the Democrats] need to get more people to vote, we as Republicans need to get more people out to vote for our candidate, but how they're going to do that is through this non-citizen voting," Tenney said on Monday's episode of the "Just The News, No Noise" TV show. "That's why the SAVE Act, which is up, is so important to make sure that we have documentary proof that you're actually a citizen."

"It is imperative that its one citizen, one vote, that's the only way that we don't undermine our sacred right to vote that is such an important right that we have as a self-governing constitutional republic," she continued. "As long as they can make sure that we don't have citizenship requirements, then these non-citizens, these people ... that have come across our border, could end up voting in our elections, which could decide the election."

Tenney also claimed that illegal immigrants are now crossing into the United States at the country's northern border with Canada, through New York, which she said saw an over 400% increase in June compared to May.

"It's because the cartels know it's easy to get into New York under Kathy Hochul and the greenlight law [which] was passed by [former] Governor Cuomo in 2019," Tenney said. "We give illegal immigrants access to licenses, they get a privilege of driving a car, getting a driver's license, and they also get special protections."
