Sanders says he's introducing bill to block 'additional offensive arms sales' to Israel
"The death and destruction in Gaza is funded by U.S. taxpayer dollars, which has provided over $18 billion in military aid to Israel. In other words, we are complicit," Sanders wrote on X in a post with a video.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who caucuses with the Democrats in the Senate, announced on Tuesday that he's introducing a bill to block "additional offensive arms sales" to Israel.
"The death and destruction in Gaza is funded by U.S. taxpayer dollars, which has provided over $18 billion in military aid to Israel. In other words, we are complicit," Sanders wrote on X in a post with a video.
"That is why I am forcing a vote on the floor of the Senate this Wednesday to block additional offensive arms sales," he added.
Users on X responded to Sanders' post and questioned whether he will take the same position toward Ukraine.
"Do you say that same thing about Ukraine?" wrote one user.
"What about Ukraine? Please spare me," another wrote.
"Now talk about Ukraine and the WWIII Biden is trying to start!" wrote a different X user.
