The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s foray into immigration has been supported by budget appropriations as recently as the 2024 omnibus bills supported by a significant number of both Republicans and Democrats.

FEMA’s role in immigration services has come under scrutiny during a double-barreled hurricane crisis that has led to frustration over alleged missteps by the agency as millions of stranded and needy Americans in the Southeast await help.

Here is how all U.S. Representatives and Senators voted on the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024, the bill which authorized approximately $650 million in funding for FEMA’s immigration programs called Shelter and Services Program.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story (10/08/2024) used a the roll call vote for the initial House approval of the bill, but it was further amended by the Senate and approved again by the House as HR 1102, for which the roll call vote is now listed above.
