Rep. Biggs says 'KAMALA Act' would stop Americans' funding illegal migrant housing loans
Earlier this month, Biggs introduced the "Keeping Aid for Municipalities and Localities Accountable Act," also called the KAMALA Act.
Congressman Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said his bill, titled the "KAMALA" Act, would stop American taxpayer dollars from funding housing assistance for illegal migrants.
"California wanted to give $150,000 upfront money to illegal aliens so they could buy a home," Biggs said on the Tuesday edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "We have a home shortage because we have so many illegal aliens in the country that have come in so fast, so you can't assimilate anyways, even if that was your intention."
Earlier this month, Biggs introduced the "Keeping Aid for Municipalities and Localities Accountable Act," also called the KAMALA Act.
"The KAMALA Act will ensure that the federal government is not bankrolling states and localities that provide illegal aliens with housing assistance," Biggs said in a press release.
In August, the California Legislature passed a bill that would offer illegal migrants loan assistance when purchasing a home, though it was later vetoed by Governor Gavin Newsom.
"This was just such a slap in the face to hard working Americans," Biggs said. "So that's why I introduced the legislation [and have] a lot of co-sponsors on it."
He added that he hopes House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., moves the legislation forward.
