Satire news website The Onion buys Alex Jones' Infowars
The gun violence prevention organization Everytown for Gun Safety will be the “exclusive launch advertiser” on the InfoWars' platform.
The satire news website The Onion purchased Alex Jones’ Infowars at a bankruptcy auction with the help of families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims.
Jones owes the families more than $1 billion in defamation judgments because he publicly called the massacre a hoax. The final sale price has not yet been disclosed.
The gun violence prevention organization Everytown for Gun Safety will be the “exclusive launch advertiser” on the Infowars' platform.
“Everytown will continue to raise awareness on InfoWars’ channels about gun violence prevention and present actual solutions to our nation’s gun violence crisis, including bipartisan, common-sense measures and public safety initiatives backed by Everytown,” The Onion said in a statement on Thursday.
